Reviews for Seoul Jangteo in Boston, MA
I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got around to it! I had the Samsun jjambbong ($18), which has more... seafood than the regular jjambbong. The portion size was huge. Noodles and soup were standard and good. My only gripe would bewith the cooking of the seafood -- the squid was a bit overcooekd for my taste. There were two types of shrimp and the biggerones were a bit overcooked. I appreciated that the mussels had the hairy part removed. I had this right after a trip to Koreawhere I had the best jjambbong in my life so this is probably not a fair comparison. I am pretty used to havingrubbery/overcooked seafood in jjambbong, but I recently had the most amazing tender seafood jjamppong in Korea so I know it canbe done, and will be chasing that for a while. Overall I would be open to trying more items from Seoul Jangteo -- it'scertainly on par with the standard Korean Chinese food you can get in Korea. Huge portion sizes as well, so fairly good valuefor the area. Read more
In Rhode Island and Boston, where I currently reside, they create the best Korean Chinese food. Tandsuyuk and Jjamppong are two... of my favorites. Jjamppong is a fiery seafood and vegetable noodle soup. A meat dish with sweet and sour sauce is calledtangsuyuk. Either beef or pork can be used to make it. I tried Jajamgmyeon during my previous visit, which is noodle dish withground pork and vegetables in a black sauce. likewise chili shrimp. Read more
One of the best Korean restaurants I?ve been to. The jajang noodle was so good. Jambong was the right amount of spicy for myself... and friends. I can?t get over how yummy the tangsuyook was. Definitely will be coming back! Read more
Everything was fairly good. The sundae was by far the best of the dishes we had. It was the perfect temperature and so soft and... delicious. The jjampong was well seasoned and a very good portion size. The sundubu was the least impressive, I?d give it 3/5because it wasn?t as flavorful as I?d have liked. It wa a mostly salty. I also was upset they didn?t have kimchi sundubu, justdifferent kinds of meat. But I was very satisfied with the amount of seafood they put in it. The service was incredibly fast. Ittook less than five minutes for the jjampong and sundae to come out. Definitely will be back. Read more
I ordered Japchae ($15.95) and it was super delicious. The ratio of noodles to veggies/pork was just right and I felt... comfortably full afterwards. The service was also good. Definitely would come here again. Read more
4.5 stars. This is a no fuss place for Korean food. As the other reviews say, the banchan is extremely minimal but the ordered... dishes are good and the meat dishes are big enough to share. We spent ~$25 per person for lunch so I would say it's pretty goodvalue too. Read more
Food The free snacks they offered was okay and super limited compared to other restaurants. The seafood pancake and fried... chicken were very good, but the tofu stew with beef was mediocre. It would have been better if they used shredded beef ratherthan diced beef. Everything else Services basically didn?t exist. They forgot to give us menus, and when we asked for it, theygave one menu. How do you expect two people to look at one menu?! Read more
We have eaten here a few times and each time are delighted with our meal. The pictures here depict one such meal when we... selected Gganpung Chicken, Stir-fried Jambong rice and seafood scallion pancake. ???? The food was cooked to perfection, flavorful and portions are huge as the pictures demonstrate. The place is usually packed, though we haven?t had to wait for atable? yet. We seemed to be lucky enough to get one of the few remaining tables each time we?ve gone. We found the waitstaff isextremely pleasant and accommodating. Each time we went we had a different server and they were all wonderful. The overallexperience is 5 star. We highly recommend this place and expect to return ourselves, again and again. Read more
