Meant to post this the other day, food has always been great. Service is mostly sub par, until we were sat in the bar area. We... were promptly greeted by our server who took the time to introduce herself (Nicole). Drinks were on the table lighting fast, she explained wait times on a deep dish, as opposed to a thin crust. Also taking the time to explain why the full menu was notavailable (extremely informative), we asked what she recommended (mozzarella triangles while we waited for our deep dish) andbest of all (med deep dish with onion, mushroom, green pepper with bacon or Canadian bacon) we went on Canadian. Asked aboutsizing she suggested a medium (we were staying in a hotel flying back ?home? yesterday for the holidays). She was spot on withsize, took the time to bring us a smaller box with an insert so the grease didn?t leak through the box (thank you Nicole, thisworked perfect in the mini fridge and you were right on that midnight snack ????????). She also explained the options forfrozen small pizzas, or even that we could order a custom pizza the day before to have frozen for the flight (which we will bedoing next trip ?home?). I want to truly thank Nicole for her attentive service, the knowledge, the laughs, the conversation, her continued smile, it was by far the BEST experience ever. So Nicole we are calling ahead to see when your working (I knowcreepy ????????), but your service deserves more like 10 stars ??!!!! Read more
Happily surprised that they somehow survived the Covid-19 crash! Checked to see if they were back open for dining in tonight and... so glad we did. Warmly greeted by the great bartender, Nicole, and then by the franchise?s owner George. Nicole?s service gets 5stars, as well as the perfect pizza! We?ll be regulars again! Read more
Arrived at 5:10 pm. We ordered 5:15 a pizza and 3 pasta dishes. We received the pizza at 5: 50pm. The pasta came out one at a... time about 15 minutes after the other. When I spoke with the manager she told me that they have a new cook and they didn't speakmuch English. I then explained to her that that is no excuse and none of my business. I was rather appalled by the mention ofthe cook not speaking English. I have spent my life in the food service industry and blaming employees for bad management isjust unacceptable. No one checked on the new cook so the food was not coordinated so the entire order would come out as acomplete meal. How long does it take to cook pasta and microwave the sauce?? Besides that, the pasta was tasteless at best andnuclear hot at the most. The pizza was great but this franchise is ruining the rest of Giordano's reputation with its extremelypoor service and bad management. Oh, I almost forgot. The manager was extremely rude when I asked for one of the pasta dishesto be taken off my bill. We ordered a kid's pasta dish and were charged for an adult entrée. She didn't remove the item but didtake off $20. Then she returned my check and slapped it down on the table. Giordano's is a tried and true Chicago staple and toallow this franchise to mess up its reputation is sad and shameful. Read more
They had pizza and pasta on the menu, claimed because of COVID they had a limited menu and nothing else. Only told me this after... we were seated. Please, COVID excuses are over for that, had plenty of staff in the dinning room, probably short supplies orcooks. I ordered 2 pizzas and 3 of my kids wanted pasta. They have individual pasta plates or a family feeds 2+ on the menu.Since some eat more than others I wanted the family plate as it was also $10 less. Was told that's not available. Come on,you're cooking and scooping the same amount of stuff, just on a larger plate vs 3. Not enough people to wash 1 extra plate? Morelike scamming me out of $10. Anyway ordered 3 plates of pasta. In a reasonable time the 2 pizzas showed up. No pasta. Ask thewaiter and he's like we never discussed pasta. Excuse me, did we forget the entire detailed conversation over the family platterthat fast? Anyway, a minute later he comes back and says the manager will allow us to order the family pasta platter. Wow, amiracle, I thought it wasn't available because of COVID. Anyway again, I will say, they did make it right. Got it cooked andserved right away, which probably means the pasta is probably in a semi precooked state in the kitchen. Litterally it's what Ithought, just one big platter vs. 3 smaller plates. How is that not available again? Let's not go there (eye roll). Food asalways was good. The diet Pepsi tasted a lot like Dr. Pepper which my kids were drinking, and the waiter kept coming over andjust making small talk with us while eating. At this point I just wanted peace, it was strange, my kids were like who is thisguy? Review is for the location, not the brand. Read more
