This place is delicious! The complimentary salad was a really nice touch and they have a great peanut sauce. The spring rolls... were bigger than expected and lovely. Zento's is probably my favorite sushi spot in the National Capital Region; so I can't believe I have not posted a review before... now. My husband and I have been customers since around 2017 and before the pandemic it was our go-to happy hour place. Sadly,during the pandemic, we did not make it here as often, but we are glad to be back now. I do recommend a reservation becausethey can get busy, but they also can usually accommodate walk-ins. The staff is super friendly and the prices are reallyreasonable; especially if you come for happy hour. The biggest reason I love Zento's is the quality of the fish. Their sashimiis consistently top quality...the kind where the fish practically melts in your mouth. I also love their rotating specialtyrolls and again, I cannot understate how great their happy hour pricing is for sashimi, appetizers, and drinks. The parkinggarage and relatively close access to Braddock Road Metro station are a bonus for this area. I highly recommend Zento and planto come back soon. Very average, we ordered takoyaki, yakitori, gyoza, terriyaki chicken bento, yellowtail nigiri, and the roll combo. The nigiri... and takoyaki never arrived. The quality of the raw fish was ok, but nothing special. The gyoza was the best thing that we had,and we had it both pan seared and fried- Absolutely amazing. Also I think the salad dressing tasted a little nutty so if youhave a nut allergy you should definitely clarify with staff. Read more

This sushi restaurant it was fine, no more than that. They have good prices but the food it doesn't feel like fresh food. It's... better to come in the happy hour time (5:00 - 7:00 pm) with some friends and enjoy the moment here. About the waiters, they arevery kind and respectfully with good customer service. Today is the first time I ate food that is actually Japanese authentic. The service here is very friendly. The tables and... area is clean as a whistle. Ordered takoyaki and ramen with pork. First bite, very good and delicious. Finished the wholemeal. If you want to eat food that is close to Japan, this is the place to be. Read more

5+++ stars for the sushi. Everything else though, was not very good. Yakuza Roll - delicious, top notch, love it, get it. The... seared salmon was melt in your mouth. It was so so good. I LOVED this roll. Tako Yaki - only had one tiny piece of octopus inthe center. The texture inside was off - too creamy. Not good. Chasu Ramen - very basic. Not very flavorful. Just meh. Pan FriedGyoza - just a little pan fried on the bottom, the top where the crimping was seemed cold. They tasted like freezer dumplingspan fried just a bit. Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box - good deal, came with miso soup, salad, tempura, a piece of fried tofu, riceand chicken teriyaki. The teriyaki was lackluster. The tempura was really good though. Zento was a lovely place for date night with my husband! We arrived at 5pm on a weekday and got seated right away but I?d... recommend arriving early as they definitely got busier as the evening went on. Our server was lovely and prompt in taking ourorders and then delivering appetizers and drinks! But the entrees were what really impressed us! I got the Tonkatsu Don whichdelicious while my husband ordered lots of sushi and the Tofu Teriyaki which he was also very satisfied with!
