We've gone to Yamazato consistently for the past 5 years for all our special occasions / date nights, and I can't believe I... haven't written a 5 star review sooner! The sushi is AMAZING. The specialty chef's rolls are so unique and tasty. We always saveup our appetite and go all out whenever we come here. The owner Steve is very nice and accommodating, and the restaurant has avery clean modern vibe. Can't recommend this place enough!! Read more

From five to two stars. One of our maki was off and we let the waiter know. Next thing we know the manger came to our table not... to apologize but to argue that it was not off. If we will go there again... Maybe, but for sure I will check some other placesand try to find some place that respect the clients. Sad because it is our first choice for sushi over the years. Excellent and amazing Sushi here, plus a menu full of other Japanese, Thai and Korean dishes. This place was recommended by a... work college and he was spot on. Perfect fish to rice proportion, super fresh fish and I just learned how great Abalone is.Usually Unagi is my favorites. You will not be disappointed. Read more

The food was pretty good and the experience but the manager (the woman) kind of ruined it all. I ordered their spicy salmon roll... and when I ate one, I realized they used a spicy mayo (which wasn?t listed on the menu) so I didn?t like it. I told my serverand she said she?s go talk to the manager about it to see what she says. I think nothing of it, order more food and enjoy mymeal. When the check was dropped, I noticed the spicy salmon rolls were still on there. When i mentioned it to my server shesaid her manager said I had it on my table for so long and she wasn?t going to take it off. I asked to speak with the manager. She comes over and tells me that there was nothing wrong with the roll, I just didn?t like it and that?s why she didn?t take itoff. This was an odd response bc typically me not liking something is a valid reason to send it back and get it taken off thebill. I typically order spicy salmon rolls so it?s not like I ordered something I never had before. The manager was supercondescending and we went back and forth about this until I she agreed to take it off the check. She stormed off and when myserver came back she said I was ?lucky? because the manager usually never does that. So while everything else I had was great(hamachi nigiri, spicy bulgogi, duck wontons and a glass of pinot gris) I don?t think I?ll be returning. There?s better sushispots around. Read more
