Tucked away in a strip mall, Revel is wonderful surprise of class and elegance. A quiet, only 61 decibels, allowing for intimate... conversation. The staff is delightful, assisting with wine selections. A robust, but not overwhelming wine and craft beerselection. We had smoked trout rillettes, soft on the palette with a bit of spice, and lamb meatballs. The lamb was tender andthe tomato sauce with yogurt and pine nuts was full but not overpowering. Extremely inconsistent service especially if you come by yourself you?ll get prioritized last over others. I got there when it... wasn?t busy and still couldn?t get consistent service . Someone would take my order but never follow through, they said they?dbe right with me and then never come back from chatting up other customers. Decided to try this place out with a friend. We did not leave disappointed. The aura of the place is calm, inviting and chic.... Great selection of wines and the lasagna was delicious! The owner was charismatic and personable. So was her team. Me and myfriend were under the impression that this was a family owned business because everyone worked so well together. I needed somewhere new to go & this was what Google recommended:)! This was a super nice, wine/ beer bar & restaurant. The decor... was gorgeous and well thought out. It is a great place to meet up with friends or neighbors. This is a great find!! It opened inJanuary, I am hoping that people will give this place a try. We will definitely go again soon! Last night I finally made it to this new wine bar and restaurant after wanting to go for weeks! First, the space is... spectacular. No detail was left untouched, and the whole place feels fresh and modern but welcoming and warm. The service wasexcellent, clearly the wine selection was stellar, and the food was so delicious! We started with the gougères and the troutrilletes with endive, moved on to fingerling potatoes, wild mushrooms and lentils, and gumbo for my husband. (His comment was: Ican't imagine anything improving this dish. High praise!) Then we ordered a couple of cheeses and finished on an especially highnote with the pot de crème?which I'm already craving again fewer than 18 hours later. I took what was left of my lentils andpotatoes, and added a couple of fried eggs for breakfast this morning?highly recommend! If you live in the DC area, trust me.You want to make Revel your next restaurant/wine bar adventure.
