This was a disappointing experience. I had been to a Magnolias in Charleston, SC and was very pleased with the food,... atmosphere, and service. This was far from that. First, the staff was dressed in clothes not fit to go out of the house. Thewaiter informed us that the upstairs was close due to staffing. The space downstairs was small and loud super loud. You couldbarely hear the other person talk. Food took a long time, luke warm and drinks tasted badly. Friends spoke of this place priorto then remodeling and had nice things to say. Read more
A hidden gem in Alexandria and a must try if you love Southern food and great atmosphere. The crab dip is rich and flavourful,... the biscuits are pure buttery goodness, and the gumbo was delicious. I could go on, but I highly recommend experiencing ityourself (especially the gouda Mac n cheese...worth it). Our server/bartender was fantastic and the recommendations were spoton. The cocktails were refreshing (and effective) and the server even asked us our preferences, less sweet/more sweet,ect. We'll be back to try the all day brunch menu soon! Read more
Waited so long to come to this restaurant and was not impressed at all. The banana French toast were amazing. The Brussels were... AHMAZING!!! The Gouda cheese in the Mac and Cheese was so overpowering wasn’t really a fan. Salmon and Grits well everyonedoes grits differently. The gumbo was very tasteful and flavorful. The smoke from the kitchen definitely burned my eyes I had tostep outside quite a few times. Read more

Incredible southern cuisine in a classy yet not too fancy setting. Highly recommend the crab dip, mac and cheese, and gumbo.
It was good experience, not an excellent one. I didn't care for the greens, but it's probably based upon the style of greens I... grew up eating and not the way these were prepared. I loved the biscuits, though, they were perfect. All-in-all a very nicemeal. The service was a bit off. No one checked back on me. They were professional, but unsmiling and not really attentive. Stopped in after a wonderful event in Maryland. We were hungry and ordered the fried pickles, spicy crab dip, the nashville hot... mushroom sandwich, the taco appetizer & the speciality drink. The chef came by as well and greeted us. Such an incrediblybeautiful old town location, with delicious food and impeccable service! Read more
Great customer service. They were busy but the host sat me upstairs. The crab cakes were delicious. I'll definitely visit again.
