The fish used here is always very fresh - this makes a big difference in the taste and quality of the sushi. Pricing is very... fair with most specialty rolls under $15 and simple rolls ~7 dollars. They have a solid Asian beer selection including ourfavorite, Orion. Wine and sake available is also very good. The dining area is clean and spacious and there's lots of seatingincluding overflow upstairs. The decor and atmosphere is simple. Kisso is busy but never so overwhelmed you can't easily get atable without a wait. The customer service is attentive and fast and if you order a lot, they'll present it beautifully, withflowers, ice carvings, and dry ice. This is our favorite sushi spot in the DMV! Read more

We had an afternoon family photo shoot in Old Towne and hungry tummies brought us to Kisso, a corner restaurant. We were in the... front corridor upon entering and was greeted at the front and seated. We ordered and drinks and our miso soup arrived first. Mydaughtet said it tasted like sea water. Our entrees followed and as appetizing as they appeared, the seasoning on the ricedishes and drunken noodle’s flavor was a bit overpowered by the spiciness, however, my daughter had the eel and salmon sushiand enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice and clean. The service was what you can expect. Overall the consensus for us were wewere hoping the flavor of the dishes would be on point and it flat for us. Read more
I’ve walked past this little bistro several times and finally decided to give it a try. So glad I did! It was a chilly... evening and started off with the hot tea. It was not strong, but had good flavor and piping hot. For appetizers I ordered thejalapeño yellowtail sashimi and a masago nigiri with quail egg on top. Both were delectable and the portions weresubstantial. Finally the entrée was the Thai curry chicken. I did not request a spice level just to see what the base heat waslike. In my opinion it is mild. I like things very spicy, but I’m always cognizant of that since my girlfriend doesn’t likespicy at all. The dish itself was very tasty and fresh.
