Reviews for Bon Vivant Cafe + Farm Market in Alexandria, VA
My southwest salad was very disappointing. It was a bed of Lettuce with what tasted like rotisserie chicken on top. It was in... huge chunks. The corn and peppers tasted like they were straight out of a cheap can. The avocado was overripe. Our table wasvery wobbly. 3 stars because of the cucumber water, the cute painted tree, the croissants that looked amazing and lobbyambience. It?s weird there are still Christmas decorations up though ???????????. Hopefully my order was a fluke. Read more
Went in for a cup of coffee and pastry to go. What I encountered were two giggling young adults who more interested in... entertaining each other than providing an acceptable level of service. Asked if they had one of the muffins they had on themenu. One asked the other if there were any in the back to which the other said "I don't know." I then asked if he could check. He disappeared for a bit and came back not saying anything. So I said that I would just take the coffee. Was advised thatthey had to brew more and it would be 3 minutes. Not a long time so I waited after paying $3.75 for a large cup of weakestcoffee I've tasted. All in all, this limited experience was pretty bad. Although the meals that I saw being served looked verygood, I'll never really know how they taste since I won't be back. Read more
Good. Nice casual atmosphere, low key. Definitely will return to try more stuff. The veggie lasagna was really tasty, only... complaint was a little bit too cheesy. But that's hardly something you can complain about with lasagna. My wife had a salmonsalad, and I had beet salad. I wanted the dressing to have a little more flavor. But everything was fresh, and pretty, andtasty. Other reviews mentioned the child room, which was right behind or table. Our kids are past that stage, but I rememberwhen that would have been nice. Fantastic for brunch. When my parents are in town we'll usually go here on Sunday mornings before they head out. Only issue is... that it's a bit lacking in seating on busy days (which Sunday brunches usually are) so either get there early, be lucky, or beready to wait for a spot/share with another group (not necessarily a bad thing!). But seriously, their breakfast sandwich isAMAZING!!! Read more
Quaint spot for relatively healthy eats. Not much for vegetarian or vegan diets, but a few vegetarian choices are available... (most with cheese). Ate the California bowl without the cheese. Read more
