Unless you live in neighborhood (or are desperate) give it a miss. Literally the rudest bartender on the planet. The waiters... somewhat redeemed the experience, but it couldn’t be saved. The food was just “okay”. The tiramisu was superb. However, Ishall never return. Not even for take out!???????? Read more

Great Italian spot in North Old Towne Alexandria. Excellent food and service with outdoor dining. The staff make you feel like... family or a regular patron from the neighborhood. Am definitely going back. Read more

We went last Saturday to A Lucia, and the food was pretty authentic. I ordered the half spaghetti a la boloñesa, and my partner... ordered the half linguini with clams, and we also have their chocolate cake with gelato. For us, the portions were perfect sincethe half allows you to get a more European portion size, which is enough for us, but I would recommend getting the full portionsize if you are looking for a more traditional American portion size. I was disappointed in the portion size of the food. I had ordered manicotti and the full size of spaghetti for delivery. If I... didn’t have a coupon, this portion would’ve been ~$40. I thought it was enough to share but I was certainly not. I alsodidn’t see any cheese in the manicotti, just outside. Read more

Great service. Everyone was very attentive. The spinach manicotti was good as well as the vegetable soup. The Caesar salad was... good. It was authentic even down to the two fish that came with it. I would go back. Read more

I think of A La Lucia as a more upscale neighborhood Italian restaurant. It is located in a more residential area far off the... King Street dining area. Their pastas are all good and I particularly like their red sauce. Another pretty big plus is theyoffer half sized pasta dishes at a very reasonable price and the portions are reasonable. A La Lucia has some decent wineswhich go well with the pasta. Service is not always consistent, but was fine on my most recent visit. It’s a nice get-a-wayfrom the King street traffic. Read more

Lot of homemade pasta and sauce. I overheard the owner talking to some customers about how he eats fish everyday and gets... in-season fresh fish for the restaurant. He was happily offering samplers from vegetable dishes. Sounded like a genuine personinterested in offering honest good food. Read more
