Yuck. Their sushi just tastes gross. I had the yellow dragon and tale of two tunas rolls. The unagi was so sweet and the spicy... tuna was unlike any other spicy tuna I've ever had. Stick to the local independent places, there are plenty of them around. Iwill say, the staff was good - polite, professional. No complaints there, just yucky food. Read more
They were VERY slow. About 20 minutes to reach the end of the line and there were THREE people in front of us. ??????????? Also,... whenever you?re actual in the prep line, they don?t have the items displayed for the build-your-own options, so I guess you haveto memorize all the items you want because the covers also don?t easily show what items you can pick from. They looked confusedwhen I asked what sauce options they had by the time we got to the end of the line. Again, I hadn?t memorized every piece andI?m sure I?m not the first to ask. Finally, they overcharged us! We didn?t notice until we walked out the door and looked at ourreceipts. We should?ve spent close to $10pp and we each spent closer to $15! Read more
The food is good. The service can use some improvement. The young stoner kids who work at Sushi Freak are really slow. There can... be no rush and it will take 30 minutes to order and receive your food. Make sure you have plenty of time on your schedule if youare craving sushi freak. Read more
It's ok and they have different foods compared to the same old stuff every one else has, but it just takes too long to prepare... and I had to pass three times in a row because with just two or three people ahead of you it takes 20 minutes or more to evenorder, then another 10 to 15 to wait for your order. And 5 minutes to eat very small portions for a high price. I'm not a sushieater or a sushi freak, so I'll pass on These places from now on. Read more
Honestly disappointed. I?ve been picking up lunch orders for my work for about a year, & today was honestly a waste. Don?t build... your own sushi burrito! It?s the same size as a sushi roll for $15! They combined all of our sushi rolls in one box, when one ofus have a food allergy! ???? it was so bad I wanted to give it a zero but that?s not possible so I give it a one star ???? Read more
Save yourself some time and go to uptown instead. Took about 30min wait from when we ordered to when we finally got to pay for... our food. And they forgot to make our poke nachos. The food itself was mushy. Put together very sloppy. Very disappointed. Wewill never come back to this location again. I will say the staff was nice and thanked us for waiting. But not worth it. Never again. We regret eating at this location. The uptown location is great, always. The west side location however, has NO... quality control whatsoever. 1. Told 35 minute wait when store was empty. 2. Nacho wontons totally raw. Nasty. 3. Sushi rice wascompletely unseasoned. 4. Poke bowl had no sauce, was inedible with straight up brown avocado. 5. FANTASTIC. This is one of the best sushi places I've been to honestly. It's like if a subway made sushi but everything is... ACTUALLY FRESH. The price point is well worth the quality and my partner and I frequent them for a quick bite. The seating issimple and quaint with single bar seats or little couple side tables lit with warm Edison bulbs. Although it's a small storefront, they get busy quite quickly so it's best to get there a bit before common lunch and dinner times but either way it'sworth the wait. Read more
