We went for my granddaughter's birthday (party of 7) and we all loved it. The grill chef was excellent and kept us laughing. The... food was so much better than the other Japanese place uptown. The grandkids ordered sushi for an appetizer and we all had thehibachi steak or chicken as our main course. It was all very good. This was our first time there and we thoroughly enjoyedourselves. I always have a good time at any restaurant with a teppan grill and Hibachi One is no different. Usually the only difference... between places like this is the chef and how friendly and interactive they are. The chef we got this time was great! Sadly Idon't remember his name, but he was friendly, funny, and took great care of us. All of the servers were great as well. They werefriendly and very attentive, making sure our drinks were always full. You could tell that everyone else in the restaurant washaving a good time too. The only issue I had was with the food. It tasted fine, but was on the bland side. The chef did giveeveryone extra teriyaki sauce on the side to add more flavor. The other issue with the food was the steak. Before the chefstarted cooking he asked how everyone would like their steak cooked and everyone said medium. He cooked everyone's steaks welldone. It's not a big deal, but it just makes me wonder why they asked the question in the first place. You pay a good amount foryour food, but you also get a lot which makes it worth it. It's possible the chef just had an off night so I still recommendeating here. Read more
