Reviews for China Garden Restaurant in Albuquerque, NM
Ordered soup with my entree and appetizer. Didn't receive the soup. Dish was edible, but not what I was expecting General Tso's... chicken. Appetizer was fantastic though Crab Rangoon. Read more
So this has been nearly 25 years in the making but stay with me. Eat here! We got takeout last night - Phoenix and Dragon and... Happy family. It was very very good. Huge portion, delicious, quick, correct. I took off one star because the Phoenix wasmissing most of the vegetable pictured - but was still very very good. We will definitely order again soon. I'll ask for morevegetables or maybe dine in and ask for guidance. And now the back story. We've lived in this neighborhood for 25 years, they've been here about that long. We try them every 3 or 4 years because they are close and easy. Until last night we alwayssay "Nope, still a giant disappointment". Always different items, eat in or take out, just a big no thanks. So glad we gavethem another try. They must be under "relatively" new management. So my point is, if your experience is not recent, give themanother try!!! Read more
A phenomenal experience. The food here is delicious, spans many regions of China, and leaves little to be desired. The folks who... run this place are thoughtful, and are very cognizant of food allergies. On top of that they?re simply kind, it?s like eating athome, but you don?t have to clean. While the decor is beginning to show its age, the food and the family who own it are amazing, and just as dedicated as the day they opened! Read more
I have not tried take out. i don't order for a large amount of people. I had adhd, i don't have much money, i appreciate quality... foods, this has been great. I'm sort of a creature of habit with my Chinese in that i always order the same thing, with anyChinese restaurants. It's a humble environment if you're looking for quiet and simple, not a busy traffic area either. pluswhen you time it right you can treat yourself with a nice humble NM sunset at this location, back to the food, depending on yourflavor experience, our expectations, the fried rice was good, bits of pork, egg, nothing fancy and tasty, with soy sauce, eggroll is the best, sweet and sour chicken sauce was tangy, sweet, chicken was hot with its batter, all served fresh. i think takeout is a hit and miss, but dining in is better. the wait staff was young, helpful, attentive and kind. i go when i got time tospare, take my time eating as it's not loud or busy, if you want a place to catch a breath or catch up on phone stuff or killtime..besides smith's is a few steps away and wild bird seeds are near by or grab a pizza to go who's next door...veryconvenient place for shopping. to each their own. The prices will remind other old folks of how it used to be. Our lunches were very reasonable in cost, however, sub-par in... quality. Both of our chicken dishes had a good amount of sauce (a plus). The fried rice did not present well; being a grayishbrown (neutral). The egg rolls tasted as if the cabbage was past its prime (negative). The service was very friendly andattentive, and the food was served up quickly and at the right temperature. Would I return? Probably not. Read more
Amazing wor won ton! But order extra won ton. Only place in town I found with good won ton.
Lovely, cozy, Mom and Pop restaurant. It was very clean, and well-maintained. I enjoyed the food, and the people who ran the... place where very nice, and very friendly. I enjoyed the service too. The prices were very good. I believe I got a combo meal, without soup, for 8 bucks. It was all I needed, and more. They also have family dinner options for 2, 4, 6, and 8 people. Itseems that they do a steady takeout business, as well as having sit down service in the restaurant. I'll go five stars. Read more
