We were on our 20th anniversary trip, taking a small road trip from San Francisco up the PCH to see the redwoods at Avenue Of... The Giants when we stumbled on this amazing restaurant. We didn?t know what to expect but we were greeted by Tim at the door whowas so friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. We were stunned by the ocean view from every single table in this elegantrestaurant. The waitstaff were attentive and so nice. The food was the best food we had the entire trip, including steakhousesin San Francisco that cost three times as much. Chef Lisa is a superstar and it feels like we discovered an incredible culinarysecret that this quiet little beach town in Northern California has been keeping. The filet was like pudding it was so tenderand perfectly cooked with an incredible crust, the purée potatoes were so creamy and packed with flavor. Everything we orderedwas perfection and if you?re a foodie I highly recommend the road trip to visit everyone at Ledford House. You will have aperfect day with the beautiful drive up the PCH finished off with one of the best meals of your life, guaranteed. Read more

The ambience was wonderful, as was the service. I would say, above all were the views! The food, in my opinion, was satisfactory... and may have been lacking in certain flavors. However, presentation and quantity deserve high praise! Read more
I can't remember the last time I went out to dinner and LOVED every single course. To start- we had boulevardiers and a tasty... local cab sauv from Sonoma. Then escargot and oysters- both were fabulous. The oysters were fresh and light and not too brine-y.For our main courses, we had a rabbit pot pie and peppered filet mignon for such a reasonable cost (10oz filet for $36 is such asteal). Both were cooked perfectly and perfectly well balanced. Last course- bread pudding.. so good that we ordered another oneshortly after the first. Everything was absolutely delicious and we will recommend this restaurant to everyone who visitsmendocino. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Service was great. Food was very good. The special is pretty cheap and you get what you pay for. It isn't spectacular, but it's... a nice way to try a few things. I had the cassoulet and it was well made and very flavorful. My partner has the special and heliked it but was a bit disappointed with the portion, but like I said, you get what you paid for. Dessert is a musthere. Beautiful location with an incredible view. Highly recommend this place for your trip to Mendocino. Read more
It?s the little things! I am a local and had a craving for some good soup. Driving by, I saw that the parking lot was totally... full and there was a line out the door. I called and immediately a nice woman picked up. I asked her if it was possible to get abowl of soup to go and she said ?of course? and I said I see there?s a line out the door, what should I do and she said to justcome in through the line and the soup will be ready for me in two minutes. Sure enough, it was ready and she cheerfully greetedme and immediately did the credit card transaction. When I got back to my car I saw that the heavy bag contained a generousamount of soup and a quarter of a loaf of bread with a side of olive oil and also a side of delicious olives. Plus cutlery.Anyway, how impressive that in a moment of them being absolutely slammed I got this kind of over the top service on a to goorder. I?m eaten here many times and every time I am thoroughly impressed. It?s good to note that the owner/manager, I thinkthat?s the case, is working right along side the other servers. A wonderfully memorable meal! So many good things to say about this place. I will start first with the drinks. The bartender was... not only very personable She helped my wife and I pick out the perfect wine and cocktail. The server pointed us to escargot andduck pate for appetizer then the 3 course meal which included was a duck lasagna. Everything came out at just the right time andtasted wonderful! The view was spectacular! We even got to watch the fog roll in. When we left we were greeted by at nicest catwho required belly rubs before we left. All in all a magical evening! Read more
