Reviews for Ping's Garden Restaurant in Albany, OR
Great food, phone order was quick. The lady that checked us out (not literally) thought of everything we might need, even forks... and plates. ?£¥¥£?? Read more
We had a very big group today on this night. We were seated quickly, beverages we never empty and the food was fantastic. I feel... the food was a good value for the price. Read more
Very good food and service. We were a party of 12 and our waitress was awesome. Very upbeat. Always checking on us. Made sure... we were well taken care of!! Read more
Friendly staff. Strange sauces. Neither American nor Chinese. I've never had a worse sweet and sour sauce. Tasted like a bizarre... ketchup. They make this odd mustard sauce that tastes like mustard powder mixed with water. Nasty. The almond chicken is mostlycelery. No seasoning. Just a bizarre bland dish. Read more
I do not recommend Ping's, didn't like it the first time we tried it 3 years ago but figured we should give it another chance.... We will never be going back. For one, they only fill the boxes halfway for the BBQ pork and your main course (as pictured myshort ribs are quite lacking). It costs more than any other Chinese in Albany. The orange chicken is soggy as hell and leaves anodd after taste (also is essentially over battered chicken strips). The fried shrimp are all batter with a baby shrimp inside. The egg flower soup was broth with bits of egg, no thickness to it. The spare ribs were all fat and bristle with very littlemeat. They forgot a part of our order and had us come back to give it to us (nothing to make up for the inconvenience was addedbesides offering a credit next time if I didn't want to pick it up now). Overall not impressed... Read more
Soo yummy! I've been going here all my life and it still taste the same as day 1. Best Chinese food I know of. Service was... awesome, so friendly. I will say I got the chicken chow mein and it had 2 little pieces of chicken. I would have called itcelery chow mein. Wouldn't recommend it. It use to be so good. The pork fried rice thou is hands down the best. Read more
It was quiet the last time we were here. There were only a couple other tables/booths with diners. It had been awhile since we... were here and I was disappointed that every meal came with multiple variations of rice, except one entree I was not interestedin, which came with chow mein. I could have got pan fried noodles as a side, but not with any of their meals. So, I orderedalmost the same thing my wife had. What was different was that she had the egg flower soup and I had the hot and sour soup;which both of us enjoyed. What we both had was the sweet and sour chicken, deep fried shrimp, BBQ pork and pork fried rice.Personally, I did not care for the fried rice; but, my wife, who usually really likes the pork fried rice here, said it was notgood this time to her. But, the sweet and sour chicken was pretty good. The deep fried shrimp, however, tasted a bit greasy, like the deep fryer was not up to temp when they cooked the shrimp. This told me that I probably made the correct choice when Iopted not to order a side of the pan fried noodles because I was concerned they would be limp and taste oily, from beingstir-fried in a pan that was not hot enough. I am hopeful that if they were busier that the food would be fresh and prepared atthe best temp to make the meals even better. As you can see though, the presentation was good on the plates. I should also add Iunderstand it is difficult for some restaurants to stay open and maintain a full menu in these current times. Read more
