Stopped by with my family on our way home north. Husband had the mix-well beef bibimbap, daughter had the kimbap with fried... chicken, and I had the chicken rice bowl. Rice was perfect and so was the fried chicken with the sauce and a small side salad.Very good comfort food. We enjoyed beef dumplings as our appetizer. Small space with counter space to eat and 2 large tables toseat a group of 4 each. A selection of Korean snacks were available to bring home. Read more

Used to live in the area and am always happy to see good food spots opening up. A friend of mine suggested eating here and I was... not disappointed. Great vegan dumplings and the potato tornado was awesome. Will definitely be back. Read more

The Mix-well bibimbab was typical of any other korean bibimbab. Good portions for lunch. The only thing I would ask for is more... gochujang sauce to mix with the rice. The gimbab tasted okay, but wasn?t expecting it to be a small roll. Read more

The small restaurant is a typical location of the Lark Street area. A few tables spaced apart. The hostess/server was so... charming and friendly. She answered all of our questions about the cuisine. You can eat here inexpensively but we wanted totry a little of everything. Great flavors and decent portions. Just be aware of parking. They seemed to be doing a greattakeout as well. I was sad that my homemade lemonade slipped and fell out of my hands ???? Even bought a "Son of Egg" littlewool hat for my granddaughter ???? Read more

Food was good and filling although I did not expect the spicy barbecue sauce on the chicken. Cost for food in the picture was... about $13. Read more

I fell in love with the concept of the Son of Egg the first time I spied it on my arrival in Albany. I was not disappointed.... Good coffee and an unusual but delicious omelette was eaten in a relaxed atmosphere. Prices were great too. Highly recommended. Read more

I always get the rice bowls and they?re just amazing. The only small problem I have is the rice itself. This isn?t a problem... with Son of Egg, but pretty much most Japanese or Korean rice bowls, is that the rice itself is bland. So unless you mix it upthoroughly, you?re gonna get a mouthful of steamy blandness. Sometimes, there isn?t enough flavor to coat all the rice anyways.I am more accustomed to South Asian food where the curry gravy seeps into the rice making it super flavorful. Otherwise, priceswent up a bit, but inflation and stuff I guess. Read more

Holy smokes!!!! The food was so tasty. I got the crispy chicken bowl with kimchee and was in culinary heaven for 15-20 mins. I... didn't want it to end. I wish I had gotten an appetizer too. This is off the beaten path for sure. The place is so chic andhip. I would bring out of town friends here for lunch totally. I wish they had alcoholic beverages lol, but I will be fine withtheir great food. This is a total must if you live in Washington Park area or you are near Lark. Read more
