Went to makimono on Nov 11 with my family and on our second round of ordering I bit into tempura crab and choked on plastic that... was deep fried. They failed to remove the wrapping when preparing the crab. I told the manager and she said sorry and walkedaway. I stopped her when she walked passed us again and advised her that it's unacceptable due to health food safety regulationsand that I don't feel safe continuing to eat. She said she was only able to give me 10% off my meal and then walked away. I hadto ask another server to call ger back and stopped my children from eating further. She made a big deal about how it's a buffetand since I ate already I have to pay. At this point she refused to listen to the fact that we only were there for 30 minutesand we haven't ordered much. She got frustrated with me and said "fine, I give you 20%." Because my kids were still hungry myhusband suggested leaving and grabbing them something else. I was very disappointed with the customer service and I won't beeating at the Ajax location. Read more
This place is like a Chinese buffet with some sushi on the menu. The shrimp still had the veins (and the lady said it’s... normal), the spring rolls were ice cold and after the first round of orders they slowed down. Also found a hair in the friedrice!! The place itself is very nice and clean, it is well put together as well with fast service. The sushi overall was okay as was... the noodles & rice and the desserts we ordered tasted a bit funky. Also pricey!! There was a 15% service charge for everyperson which added up at the end to a lot. It would be nice to see a smile on the employees faces, service is importantespecially when dining in. I recommend trying the shrimp tempura though. Read more
Love Makimono. Haven’t been back since the pandemic and the food tastes the exact same. Friendly staff always!, great fresh... food. $28.99 for all you can eat lunch. Got a lychee slushy bubble tea for 4.50. Was so good! Read more
Ok, I live in Ajax and am not expecting great Japanese food, but this place was beyond terrible to say the least. First of all,... when I ordered the take out, there was detergent smell all over the place. which was from the soup and Maki. Kani salad waswatery, they actually uses cooked salmon on their roll. The most hideous one is the chicken karage which is pretty much rocksolid fried dough. Read more
Fantastic all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant. Fish is always fresh and all items are made to order. Every time we go, service... from Vivian has been great. Very friendly and courteous. One the best deals for sushi lunch around. (They also have a cat robotserver, but Vivian is still the best! ) Read more
