I definitely prefer the original Ajax location to the Pickering. Something about the service and the food are different. Ajax... location the employees are warm and friendly. It's located in what appears as an industrial area, but it's very cleaninside/modern. No area to sit in and eat was observed, but a stand up counter area was available....BUT, with all the goodnessyou won't need to sit.....You'll be dancing as you enjoy their many Jamaican options. I ordered the oxtail and they definetlydidn't skimp me...Meaty pieces and well tasty and creamy coleslaw. It definetly had me dancing as I ate in happiness. Read more
My first time here. Here's my take. Location: not the greatest, hidden with no street sign so you can't find it unless you use... Google maps. Food:????????I got the "curry goat with rice and peas". just the right amount of spice, gravy and portion. BRAVO???????? ???????? Customer Service: Yikes!! Why is it that every Caribbean restaurant or Caribbean server acts like they don'twant you there. Seriously, take a course in Customer service. Your businesses would boom. Please cut the attitude. It looks badon our race. I know I probably shouldn't be saying this because not all black-run businesses operate like that. But someone hasgot to say it. On a positive note. This was my first time coming to this spot, they have good flavor and seemed fresh. The rice could use some help, needs some... more flavor, but we come for the chicken. We ordered jerk chicken and for Ajax it was ok. We have to ask before ordering to putoxtail gravy or else you will miss it. There is extra charge for oxtail heavy and could not tell the difference. It was a goodexperience. Prices are reasonable and they will fill you up. Read more
Their service is extremely frustrating, anytime I ask to order food in advance they say no, only for me to arrive within 5... minutes and have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for the food. I only get the jerk pork for my partner otherwise I would NOTever patronize this establishment. Read more
