So what do you do when it's Memorial Day and all your favorite local breakfast hotspots are all packed with a 2 hour wait? You... get in the car and drive out to Absecon for the Phoenix Diner! Had never been there before until yesterday at the suggestion ofmy husband and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased! I love diners. I always say I'd pick a local diner over a 5 star whitetable cloth restaurant any day. And I would happily eat at Phoenix again! It's so bright and perky inside. Their menu is HUGEand everything sounds delicious. Our server was Jen and she was wonderful all throughout. Their pastries at the counter looklarger than the Megalodon and we were going to take some home but the lady at the counter was too snippy to the people ahead ofus so she turned us off from that. I will say their pancakes were made perfectly and the sausage was also tasty. It was a goodmeal, Jen was great, and the decor is bright and welcoming. Would definitely go back for more. Read more

We enjoyed having breakfast here 2 times on the way to and from AC. First time I got French toast and I fell in love with it, it... was not too sweet, nicely fried, with it I got bacon, eggs and sausage, all came up to $10.25, very good deal for that much foodand good quality food. Second I ordered pancakes or hot cakes, not at the top of my list, but they were good. The service isvery friendly, they follow all the Corona policies for those who are concern. But the most I love the atmosphere, relaxing 80smusic, not a lot of people, good meal, good vibe. Definitely will come here again. The only minus was for me, but i understandthe situation, the smell of chemicals was a bit too much, second time we?ve been there it smelled like bleach and otherchemicals. Great food and exceptional service! My wife had eggs benedict w/ scrambled eggs. The hollandaise sauce over the broccoli was a... great touch. I had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich which felt like it was 2 pounds heavy! To quote Uncle Leo, "That's some portion!"We enjoyed everything and the menu has something for everyone. Read more
This is my go to diner when I am in the Atlantic City area. The food comes out quick and is fresh. I have yet to be... disappointed. The prices are great and I never leave hungry. I prefer to not do breakfast or lunch when I leave Atlantic City soI like to stop at the Phoenix and not deal with all the masses of people the casinos bring in. Definitely worth the visit! Read more
The breakfast was OK. But the experience I had with the manager after was unbelievable!! After talking to her and having a nice... conversation about my anniversary which was that day. I told her I wanted to get a couple of the pastries for a snack back atour hotel, for later that night. My wife and I picked which ones we wanted. I said great wrap them up and put them in the boxand we get going I said. She said sorry we don't wrap them? I said no you don't understand we are going to leave them in the carall day and would like them wrapped to stay fresh for later. Great thanks.....nope we don't wrap them. I said we'll your muffinsare wrapped and other things are wrapped? Well we don't wrap those...I said ok I'll wrap them could I get some plasticwrap....or foil then. Nope! It's too expensive she said. I said ok I'll give you an extra $2 then. Great....nope. I said ok I'llgive you an extra $5 like a tip. Great just get me something to wrap them so there fresh, plastic wrap , foil, even bag orsomething....nope! SO I SAID CAN I HAVE YOUR OWNERS NUMBER...NOPE HES IN GREECE. I SAID I WILL NEVER EAT IN THIS RESTAURANTAGAIN. The manager said ok have a nice day....now I know when we got there 1/2 the restaurant was closed up. And the other 1/2, 2 people eating in it at 8am!
