First time eating here. The salsa served for free is too hot and tastes like pure cilantro. If you want mild salsa then you have... to pay extra. The rice is not as expected for a Mexican restaurant. Refried beans were good. Homemade tortillas taste good, butare small. The bourbon bread pudding was great and the best part of the visit. Overall this was a good experience. A group of 5 of us went and we collectively agreed it was okay, not great. The food was very... confusing. It had hints and flavors of Asian cuisine. The rice tasted of soy sauce as if it was Asian style fried rice. Theflautas also had egg roll wrapping instead of tortillas. It was a very confusing experience as far as the food went. Therestaurant itself and the decor was very nice and the patio looked cool. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive to us. Iwould say Abilene has far better Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican food but overall it was a good time. Read more
Stopped into Miguel's Mexican restaurant today. Pretty packed but still had plenty of seating. Good was very flavorful and... plentiful. Service was good but our waitress had too many tables to cover. So we didn't get ample attention. I ordered a Pinacolada which was really tasty! Ordered another and it never came. When I asked the waitress if she forgot about my drink shesaid she checked and the bartenders hadn't made it yet. Waited, she passed by again.. And again.. And again.... then towards theend of the meal she said she couldn't bring my drink because the bartenders were making it. Still don't understand why!?! But Iwas already leaving. Cold beer, great guac, and an excellent waiter?what more could anyone want? Eric was super friendly, and fun!! He brought... everything quickly, and didn?t mind that we weren?t going to order a meal! I just popped in for a snack, and their queso Blancoand guacamole topped with black lava salt, really hit the spot. Their beer was ice cold and perfect!
