Reviews for Thai Orchid Restaurant in Aberdeen, NC
I was excited to try this place, the smell from outside was very appetizing. Food Taste was very good though I've never had a... Fresh (spring, ) roll that had red onions in it. The 2 duck dishes we ordered was pretty tasty The pineapple rice was for 2 paxsize The noodle dish was kinda small for what we expected with only some shrimps for that price. The rice that came with theduck was very small versus other places so had to order extra rice. Ambiance Old tables and chairs, but acceptable. Upholsteryneeds to be replaced at the booth seats. Seemed pricey ($133+) for the things we ordered for 4 adults basically. I might'vebeen ok with it had they been nice, but they were not. CON 1st - the 2 older gals seemed welcoming when there was just 4 of us, but when I said group of 7, one got rattled as if they've never had people coming in. 2nd - if you have a child, this placenot the best place to go. One of the older gals was very rude to my husband and son. Yes, he's not quiet but neither was theplace quiet nor was he being unruly just chatty and stayed in his seat the whole time. I didn't realize what she did till afterwe left, my husband was uncomfortable the entire time but didn't want to make a spectacle. We were with another couple andtheir child, having a good day. I normally take pics of food ordered, but since we were with friends, I didn't whip out mycamera. Read more
Excellent service, atmosphere, and the food is delicious. Thai Basil Shrimp, authentic, not over spicy, crisp veggies, and... tender shrimp. Mister had seafood combination with rice, well seasoned, lots of veggies, and a delicious sauce. The springrolls tasted good. Not like the frozen kind. These taste homemade.???? Worth the drive. Enjoy! Read more
I was surprised with my latest visit after a long break from this restaurant. The staff were great and the food was great. The... prices seemed to be more reasonable than I remember, but that may be a shift in my perspective. I'm picky about my Thai food andthey did a great job for my father's day treat from my family. Caved to wifes love of Thai and gave this place a try. The vegetable spring rolls were good. However, they WAY over did the... spice on our entrees. I ordered Pad Thai at 2/5 and she ordered Drunken Noodles at her usual 3/5. We both threw them away due tobeing too hot to enjoy. Read more
The worst pad Thai ever. Ugh, so disappointing. It was seriously grey and has NO sauce. Like dry mushy noodles that looked... like they had been chopped a million times. We took a chance bc had decent reviews but threw it straight in the trash. What awaste. Can NOT believe they would even pass this grey mush off as pad Thai. Tried to call to get money back but it was 9 andthey didn?t answer. ???? Read more
Read the reviews, good and bad before I decided to visit. It was around 7 PM and I called to order carry out. My order was... spring rolls, cucumber salad and basil chicken. It was ready in 15 minutes. The man behind the counter was super nice, thefacility was decorated decently and the wait staff all had smiles on their faces. I've eaten Thai food at many places around theworld and the food here is right at the top of the list with some of the best. I will be returning to this establishment. Read more
Their tofu curry is phenomenal and they definitely know how to spice it correctly! 2 stars will make you sweat, so order your... heat level conservatively. The spring rolls are pretty and delicious. Everything is always great. Just plan plenty of time toeat. Dinner will take a while, but it is worth the wait. Read more
We love Thai food so love to try different ones. Tried a few appetizers and two dishes and all were fantastic. Each dish had... their own little spin different from other Thai places and all were well done. Staff was great and the service was surprisinglyquick, Thai is usually a little slow but this was "quick for Thai". Recommend the Curry Puffs. Read more
