The cirn wasn't creamy. The soulfood wraps were nasty. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold. The pork chop was too thick and... tasted like a raw hog taste. The red velvet cream cheese cake had too much red dye. We didn't get our plates until after 10minutes of the rest of my Party was ALREADY eating. The Gator bites didn't taste like real alligator. It was 84 degrees inside restaurant today when we arrived. Pork chops had way too much fat. Knives were not sharp enough to... cut meat. Prices very reasonable. Flavor on all foods was tremendous. But I wouldn't go back. Read more

Went for Sunday dinner and was pleasantly surprised! This is a new gem in the Abbeville square, the pork and greens over grits... was phenomenal along with the hot chicken French toast and the PB chocolate cake too! We will definitely be back! Read more

This place has a unique vibe, bringing Louisiana and her scrumptious food to historic Abbeville. The food is amazing with just... the right amount of kick and the staff is attentive and friendly. As a northerner who has never appreciated grits, I waspleasantly surprised by how lovely the shrimp and grits were. I just visited for the first time and will definitely be back. Read more

The gathering around the table is such a wonderful moment of connecting with friends and family. It is not just a meal, it is... an experience. Unfortunately, I struggle with food allergies and it is a very rare occurrence for me to get to enjoy dining outwith friends. Indigenous underground came reccomend by a fellow Abbeville restaurant owner who swore up and down that thechef/owner could be trusted to prepare a wonderful meal for me without cross- contamination. I went ahead and booked our Boardof Directors lunch at the restaurant and I am beyond impressed. I called ahead and they made certain that they had adequateseating and staff to serve our group. I felt like I was watching children at Christmas time as my board of directors searchedthrough the menu to try the creative soul cuisine. Fellow restaurant patrons even started making recommendations on what we hadto try! Before today we never heard of green tomato jam but now we need more of it in our lives! When the food came out it waswarm and presented well. My favorite moment was when my guests started trying to split their plates with their neighbors so thatthey could sample it all! The staff was attentive, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect! The most amazing partfor me is that I was able to enjoy a lunch out with friends and feel included without the fear of getting sick from my food(remember I have allergies). I am glad to say that I have found a place that I can trust to provide me and my guests with agreat experience!!! Read more
